Work in the Dublin Painting & Sketching Club

3RA Member Bridgid Flynn is currently exhibiting works in The Dublin Painting and sketching club in Dun Laoghaire County Hall from 11th to 25th April.

The Dublin Painting And Sketching Club's 132nd Annual Exhibition
The Dublin Painting and Sketching Club was formed in October 1874. Its aims were 'to bring together artists, amateurs and others interested in art and the holding of public exhibitions.' In the 21st century these aims remain in place. The founders, a distinguished group, included Dr. William Stokes, Fellow of the Royal Society and President of the Royal Irish Academy, Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, Dr. John Todhunter, a successful playwright and John Woodhouse, an engraver and maker of wax models. Alfred Grey, RHA, was the first President of the Club and Alexander Williams, RHA, the first Secretary. The Dublin Painting and Sketching Club hold their 132nd Annual Exhibition at Dun Laoghaire's County Hall from Monday April 12th to Sunday April 25th, presenting 250 works by their eighty members, including Maureen Phelan, Margaret Kent, Cabrini Lynch and Tom Scott.
